Federal Programs Meetings Announced

Two of Wayne Public Schools Federal Programs are having meetings. First, the Indian Education Parent Committee is having its fall meeting on Thursday, September 10 at 5:30 pm. It is for all parents of students with tribal citizenship. It will be held in the High School Library or you may attend by a Google Meet link. Email Michelle Matthews at micmatthews@wayne.k12.ok.us for the link if you want to attend that way.

The Title I/REAP Flex Teacher/Parent Committee meeting will be held Thursday, September 17 at 3:30 pm, also in the High School library. This is for parents of all students of Wayne Schools. We will discuss budgets for the 2020-2021 school year.

Please wear a mask to the meetings and prepare to socially distance. An agenda will be available by email for anyone attending.

Why 2020 Census Matters for Schools

The 2020 Census count impacts the federal funds that communities receive each year for programs and services that are critical for schools, students, and younger children, such as:

-Special education, Head Start, after-school programs, and classroom technology.
-Food assistance, including free and reduced-price school lunches.
-Maternal and child health programs.

J.O.M. Supplies to Be Given Out First Day of School

J.O.M. Indian Education supplies for elementary students will be given to your child's teacher. In middle school and high school, sacks of basic supplies will be given to them directly on the first day of school. If your student is new, supplies will not be given until a citizenship card is uploaded to the Student Records portal.
