Lea Ann Boles, who taught all 29 years of her career here at Wayne and has spent the last several years as a 4th-grade teacher, has announced her retirement. LeaAnn was a graduate of Wayne and returned after getting her Elementary Education Degree.
Following May 22nd's OSSAA special meeting, Wayne Public Schools will begin to evalute and divise a plan to safely integrate our student athletes and coaching staff back into activities starting on June 1st. No activities will be allowed before June 1st. CDC, State and local guidelines will still be followed. We will update you with this plan as soon as possible.
Sean Connor Crawford, Katlyn Powell, and James Spencer have all been named Oklahoma Academic Scholars by the State of Oklahoma Department of Education.
Graduating seniors who meet all of the requirements listed below shall be recognized by the local school district and the State Board of Education as an Oklahoma Academic Scholar:
*Accumulate over Grades 9, 10, 11, and the first semester of Grade 12, a minimum grade point average of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale or be in the top 10% of their graduating class. *Complete (or will complete) the curricular requirements for a standard diploma. *Achieve a 27 composite score on the ACT or 1220 combined reading and mathematics score on the SAT.
