Wayne High School Student Council

Sponsor: Angela Russell

Purpose: The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body. 

Membership:  Anyone in Wayne High School can join Student Council.  You must come to regular meetings.  You are automatically a member if you are a class president, vice president, or representative.

WHS National Honor Society

Sponsor: Michelle Matthews

Purpose: The purpose of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of Wayne High School.

Membership: Membership in the Wayne High School chapter is an honor bestowed upon a student. Selection for membership is by a faculty council and is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service. A selection rubric is available. Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities. Members who resign or are dismissed are never again eligible for its benefits.

Future Farmers of America/4H

Sponsor: Drew Hardaway

Purpose:  The purpose of this chapter is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Membership: Any student enrolled in agricultural classes at Wayne Schools.
